MADE FOR ERRORS

It was not until the Summer of 17, when I first realized what a big mistake I have made. But the scariest part was, that I continued making it, and it turned out to be one of my biggest achievements. After all, the gambles do pay off sometimes. I was just another guy learning from my mistakes and growing into an individual that I had imagined. I was because of Sam Harper, the guy who really showed me the strength that I had. Maybe that was my Trigger.

This was my first day at the University of Guelph campus. It looked exactly like the fantasy world of Harry Potter. In some way, I had always wanted to study at an institution like Guelph. I was eager to see where the gymnasium was as sports always appealed me. I had just entered the gymnasium and saw all these University kids putting in the hard work with all the dedication. My excitement grew with every step. At the sign-up window I met this amazing person, Alex. What a great lad. He had been training, studying, and working for the UofG for the last 3 years. He shared some of his experiences with me and talked about the prospects.

I was sold on getting the membership and start training ASAP. I started my fitness journey with little to no knowledge that I had. I would see other people working out and sometimes chat with the gym trainers to guide me in the right direction. I never felt like an outsider in that gym because there were many people like me. I was able to learn and start my own routine just after 8 months. That seems like a long time but after all, I was just a blank slate. In some way or the another, learning from experiences in what helps us grow.

I was happy with the change that I was seeing, but not satisfied with the pace of my growth. I was trying an exercise called the Muscle ups at that time but failed badly at almost all my attempts. One day, I was at the gymnasium when I saw this person doing them with ease and something inside of me, prompted me to go and ask them for help. It turned out to be one of the wisest decisions that I might have made in that moment. I reached towards this and politely asked for his help. Now, I had no idea that his name was going to get stuck in my mind forever. Everyone, meet Sam Harper. Lean dude with a clean built and amazing work out style. Sam gave me pointers that massively changed my gym game. From my gym routine to the kinds of exercises I should be doing on specific days of the week, I was just FLABBERGASTED. I was happy that I got all that knowledge from someone who knew so much about fitness.

Knowledge is the most priceless thing in this world. We may thousands of dollars to get it from major institutions, but very rarely do we spend to get the knowledge that we need to change our body. Today, who I am is because someone passed on that knowledge to me. I am so happy that I get to share it with my pals who love working with me. It’s not the person you are investing it, it is the knowledge that you are investing in.

Do not feel lost when trying something new, as we all are just MADE FOR ERRORS.

Stay Gallant!
